Posted on P. Flinn Schanuel2 May 2024 Some times , some days , some hours, or even some phone calls can result in a bad encounter with this facility, but overall CID is a really good place that Hemet is lucky to have accessible in town. Be patient if you have to have a non-stat appointment scheduled, then don't miss it. It has many services available on site. Service dogs are allowed. Waiting rooms are clean, orderly, and have TV Plasmas set up. On my most recent visit to CID, I was scheduled to get biopsies on a mobile traveling unit (Dedicated Biopsy Services). I was hesitant, but the mobile unit was clean & well equipped. The technicians were excellent, the doctor was experienced & knowledgeable, and they were all polite, kind, informative, and professional. Although I don't recommend biopsies for fun, I do give this most recent experience an overall thumbs up. A SPECT scan is a diagnostic tool that provides detailed functional imaging to evaluate how your body works. Unlike traditional imaging that only shows body structures, SPECT scans go deeper by capturing the metabolic and biochemical activities of tissues and organs.
This imaging method is helpful in diagnosing and monitoring conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, neurological disorders, and certain cancers.
Our radiology team uses advanced SPECT technology to ensure precise and accurate imaging results.
We give you a small amount of radioactive tracer, which emits gamma rays that the SPECT camera can detect. This allows our experts to create three-dimensional images that show functional anomalies with great clarity.
These images let doctors see blood flow, metabolic activity, and receptor binding in real-time. This provides important information that guides treatment plans.
Patients in our area benefit from the expertise and careful attention our radiology team brings to each SPECT scan.
The detailed data from these scans enables early detection and targeted intervention, improving patient outcomes.
Whether evaluating myocardial perfusion in cardiac patients or mapping brain activity in people with epilepsy, we focus on detailed functional imaging through SPECT scans. This ensures each patient gets informed and personalized care.
SPECT scans have changed medical diagnostics by providing detailed, three-dimensional images of internal organs.
Unlike traditional imaging, SPECT scans use a radioactive tracer to show areas of blood flow and cellular activity, offering a precise view of physiological processes.
This imaging technology is valuable in diagnosing conditions related to the brain, heart, and bones. It helps doctors detect abnormalities that other methods might miss.
SPECT scans do more than just diagnose. They help create treatment plans for various conditions.
For example, in cardiology, SPECT scans can evaluate blood flow to the heart muscle, helping diagnose coronary artery disease and assessing myocardial viability.
In neurology, SPECT scans provide important insights into brain function, helping detect and manage disorders such as epilepsy, dementia, and stroke.
By showing how different regions of the body are functioning, SPECT scans help doctors provide personalized and effective care.

GOT QUESTIONS?
A SPECT scan is an advanced imaging technique that creates detailed, 3D images of internal organs and tissues. The scan involves an injection of a radioactive tracer, which emits gamma rays captured by a special camera to produce diagnostic images.
A SPECT scan is useful in diagnosing various conditions, including heart disease, brain disorders, bone abnormalities, and certain types of cancers. It can help assess blood flow, detect tumors, and evaluate organ function.
During a SPECT scan, you will receive an injection of a small amount of radioactive tracer. You will then lie down on a table while a camera rotates around you, capturing images from different angles. The procedure is non-invasive and usually takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area being examined.
SPECT scans are generally safe, with minimal risks. The radiation exposure from the tracer is relatively low and comparable to other imaging tests. Some people may experience mild discomfort at the injection site or rare allergic reactions to the tracer. Our radiology team ensures that all safety protocols are followed.
Preparation for a SPECT scan involves simple steps. You may be asked to avoid eating or drinking for a few hours before the scan, and certain medications may need to be stopped temporarily. Our team will provide specific instructions for your needs and the type of scan being performed.
